Thank you for joining Jon and me on our creative journey.

We are a small home-based, family creative studio located in San Antonio, Texas.

Our mission is to “nurture creativity and strengthen multicultural and intergenerational bonds, contributing to the healing of our communities.”

As we embrace our golden years, we pursue our passions and inspire others to do the same. Every day, we find joy and fulfillment in our work, and we are thrilled to share this journey with you. Join us as we explore, create, and connect—bringing a touch of magic to our lives and yours.

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes on our next projects:

1) “Alpaka Lottahats Grand Adventure.” a children’s book that shares the excitement and wonder of world travel and the delight found in experiencing different cultures.

2) “The Care and Feeding of Your Elder.” A series based on our personal experience caring for the elders in our family, exploring topics related to Multigenerational households – including a cookbook full of recipes developed by Jon for my elderly mother (who we care for here at home). Vetted and augmented by experts from within our community.

3) “Kermit” our classic car restoration project a 1957 Morris Minor. The “big reveal” is coming soon!

4) and an odd assortment of animated stories.

We invite you to explore our books, stories and other creative content on our website https://folk.studio

We have friends and family from all walks of life and work hard to present universal content (that relates to all humans) that is Centrist, Rated “PG13”, and rings true to life.

…and lastly a personal note:

It’s been decades since I’ve looked up a verse of scripture. I was born into one tradition but have explored many others and come to know that Love is the key to lasting peace, as it speaks to the humanity within us all.

This verse came to mind this morning as collectively we stand at the precipice–gazing into the unknown. Whatever happens we’re going in together and we will come out stronger when we find family–in each other.

This is a verse, from a Protestant tradition, that I was taught as a child. It means so much this morning:

1 Corinthians 13

If I speak in the tongues[s] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

I love my city, I love my friends, family, neighbors, and then extend that around the globe… across cultures, faiths, blood. I wish to reach out to our grandchildren around the world, hold you in my arms and tell you that you are loved.
